Samsung has set an event for October 20, and speculation is rife as to what will be announced. One of these predictions is that the long-awaited Galaxy S21 FE will be introduced on that date. According to insiders, the phone will not only not be released on that date, but it will not be released until January 2022.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the Galaxy S21 FE will be released next year, but with Samsung announcing a Galaxy Unpacked Part 2, some are hopeful the phone will be revealed during the event.
According to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, the Galaxy S21 FE will not be released next week and will not be available until the end of October. This is due to the fact that major production of the phone does not begin until December, matching with a January 2022 release date.
The Galaxy S21 FE is a less expensive variant of the Galaxy S21. It is the follow-up to the Galaxy S20 FE, which was released last year. According to a Geekbench listing, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 888 processor, but an Exynos variant is also possible.
In addition, the phone will sport a 1080p AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120hz and a centered punch hole for a 32MP camera. Three cameras will be arranged vertically on the back. If it were to be released this year, it should come with Android 11 pre-installed, but with the release date pushed out to January, Android 12 pre-installed will be preferable.
