Redmi, a Chinese independent brand that was once a sub-brand of Xiaomi, will shortly debut a new smart TV series in China. Xiaomi has already stated that the brand will offer new Redmi Smart TV models in China on October 20th, branded Redmi Smart TV X 2022.
The company has recently released a teaser image for this new Smart TV series, revealing that it will offer a high refresh rate of 120Hz. It goes on to say that the company hopes to “establish a new generation of flagship standards for young people” with this.
According to the post, the Redmi Smart TV X 2022 family of smart TVs will popularise the 120Hz refresh rate on TV screens. The tweet also reveals that it would be a flagship TV, implying that it will have high-end components, features, and functionalities. With a guaranteed refresh rate of 120Hz on the future Redmi smart TVs, this might be an ideal TV for gaming provided you have a good gaming setup or gaming gear.
While nothing is known about this future lineup, we anticipate the business will debut three versions – 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch — based on the previous iteration, which had these three sizes when it was released.
In terms of pricing, the Redmi Smart TV X 2020 was released last year with a beginning price of roughly $280 for the base 50-inch model, and we expect the entry-level model to have a similar starting price of under $300. We’ll have to wait a few more days for the formal launch event to learn more about the next Smart TV’s features, versions, pricing, and availability.
