The Motorola Edge X will be the company’s next flagship smartphone. It is owned by Lenovo. For quite some time, it has been speculated that Motorola is developing a high-end phone with flagship features such as the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 engine. Now, a Lenovo executive has confirmed that the flagship phone is happening and will be dubbed the Edge X, but he has not stated when this phone would be available.
Previous rumors stated that the next Motorola flagship phone would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 CPU. The processor is most likely the successor to the Snapdragon 888, which is used in premium phones such as the OnePlus 9 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra, Oppo Find X3 Pro, and Realme GT. Its replacement, the Snapdragon 898, would improve performance and lifespan while consuming less power in flagship devices.
The Motorola Edge X will be crucial for the Lenovo-owned firm. The Moto Edge S, which debuted earlier this year, was the company’s most recent flagship. Technically, it is not a true flagship because it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, which is lower in the chip hierarchy than the Snapdragon 888. However, because it was the most powerful phone in Motorola’s series, we’ll refer to it as a flagship. As a result, the Motorola Edge X will outperform the Moto Edge S in terms of performance, if not everything else.
We’ll learn more about the Motorola Edge X in the coming days, as the firm will undoubtedly create some buzz before of the anticipated debut.
