According to Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young, Apple plans to release a new 27-inch iMac in early 2022. This information is derived from Young’s tweets as well as other details he supplied with MacRumors.
Young told MacRumors that the 27-inch iMac display will contain mini-LED illumination, implying that it will be branded with XDR. According to Young, Apple is planning to deliver the new iMac in the first quarter of 2022.
Young also mentioned that the 27-inch iMac display will include ProMotion, which will enable an adjustable refresh rate of 24Hz to 120Hz. Young did not specify the resolution of the display at the time this report was written, but the current 27-inch iMac has a 5K resolution.
Apple has previously released a number of items featuring mini-LED displays, including the 12.9-inch iPad Pro earlier this year and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro last week. Young anticipates that Apple’s previous supremacy in mini-LEDs will continue with the new iMac.
The new iMac, which is expected to be released between January and March 2022, is claimed to have a Mini-LED display with 120Hz ProMotion… similar to the just-released updated MacBook Pro models.
